Who we are...

The NYFAA is a professional association representing the automatic fire detection and fire alarm systems industry.

The NYFAA includes members located in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties.

Our members include many segments of the fire alarm industry: Fire Alarm System Distributors and Service Organizations, Central Station Fire Alarm Monitoring Companies, Manufacturers, and Engineering Firms.

The NYFAA promotes the wider use of automatic fire alarms and fire prevention through a program of advertising, public relations and education.

We act as a liaison group to government agencies including the NYC Department of Buildings and Fire Department, insurance companies, fire service, and other professional associations to foster understanding and increase the value of the automatic fire alarm industry in the New York area.

The Purposes of the Association are...

Develop educational programs for the interpretation and application of codes, standards, and ordinances pertaining to the installation, inspection, testing and servicing of fire detection and alarm systems in New York State.

Initiate and support sound legislation affecting the development, application, and enforcement of codes, standards and ordinances pertaining to fire detection and alarm systems and safety of life and property.

Establish a working relationship with all levels of authorities having jurisdiction over the development, implementation and enforcement of codes, standards and ordinances pertaining to fire detection and alarm systems and safety of life and property.

Develop and provide educational training and technical data and liaison to Local Governments, Fire Service, Commissions, Agencies and/or Individuals regarding the interpretation and application of codes standards and ordinances pertaining to fire detection and alarm systems and safety of life and property.

Develop progressive professional standards for the improvement of fire detection and alarm systems application, installation, inspection, testing, and service throughout the industry to enhance safety of life and property.

Develop and provide intercommunications and information on all matters of interest to all members of the NYFAA.
